EDRG 3321 Author Profile

The third Author profile i did it on Michelle Knudsen. The book is named Library Lion. I bought this book at my son's book fair. I read it to him and he loved it! The book is about this Lion who goes to the library, there aren't any rules of why the lion can't be there. So they let him stay all the kids watch and are amazed. The lion loved story hour. The librarian started to use the lion to help her with things around the library. The librarian then fell off and the lion tried telling the other person there that she was in trouble and roared. They got after him for not being quiet so he went away. They didn't see he for a couple of days. He was just trying to help. It's a really good book with a happy ending. The moral of the story is sometimes it's okay to break the rules.
When i googled the author i found this website: http://www.michelleknudsen.com/works.htm, the website lists all of her books. Even the books she no longer publishes. The website also lists what awards she has gotten for the book Library Lion.

EDRG 3344 Descriptive Poem

What am I?
I can walk.
I can swim.
I can breathe under water.
I am different shades of green.
I can have more than one baby at a time.
I can eat other animals.
I can live a long time.
I wear protection for my body.
I am known to take my time.
I am not a predator.
I am a good hider.
I cannot live in Antarctica.
I cannot live without my protection.
I can shed my skin.
I can mate.
I have no teeth.

EDRG 3344 Narrative- Charlie the Lonely Turtle

There once was a turtle named Charlie. He was lonely. He had no friends or family. Charlie was all alone. Charlie lived in the water under a tree. He had everything he needed there. He had shelter, food, and a place to wonder. He would say, "Hello!" to all the fishes and sea animals. They were snobby, they wouldn't talk to him back. Then, one day while he was out wondering he caught a glimpse of what he thought was another turtle. He chased it. When he finally caught up with the fast turtle. He introduced himself and made small talk. It was love at first sight. After that day they were inseparable. She moved in with him and they mad a life together. Charlie was no longer lonely. He had found a life long companion. And they lived happily ever after. THE END!

Group presentations

Today we did our presentation of "The Giving Tree". I hadn't read this book before or even heard of Shel Silverstein. Doing the genre of poetry was fun and a learning experience for me. We worked great as a team and I hope everyone enjoyed our presentation. Also enjoyed the apples and cookies. =)
The second presenters did an excellent job, i thought the article was very cleaver and enteratining for us to hear. Good job!!
